Initially Faustus is very ambitious and has high hopes and dreams because of what he believes he can accomplish with is powers, but by the end when his deal with a demon pans out into the powers he wanted his ambition is gone and the only thing he focuses on dumb tricks right up until the moment of his death when he wishes he had done better, but it's too late.
