Answer:

<u>The equation of the line is y+2x=4</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

The table shown below is :

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}x&y\\-1&6\\0&4\\1&2\end{array}\right]

thus , to find the equation of the line ,

we use the formula :

\frac{y-y_{1} }{x-x_{1} }  = \frac{y_{2} - y_{3}  }{x_{2} -x_{3} }

where,

<em>x and y are the variables.</em>

<em>x_{1} =-1  ;  y_{1} = 6; \\x_{2}=0; y_{2} = 4;\\ x_{3}=1 ; y_{3} = 2 ;</em>

substituting the values in the equation, we get ,

\frac{y-6}{x-(-1)}  = \frac{4-2}{0-1} \\\frac{y-6}{x+1} = \frac{2}{-1} \\y-6=-2*(x+1)\\y-6= -2x-2\\y+2x=4

<em>∴ The equation of the line is y+2x=4</em>

A scientist has saline solutions with concentrations of 4% and 14% . He wants to mix some of each solution to get 65 milliliters
Komok [63]
Let volume of 4% solution = x and of 14% be y

them x + y = 65........(1)    also  using the actual weights of  salt:-

0.04x + 0.14y  =  65*0.06 = 3.9

multiplying the above equation by  -25 we have

-x - 3.5y = -97.5    adding this to equation (1)

--2.5y = -32.5
y= 13

and x = 65 - 13 = 52

so we need 13 mls of the 14%,  and 52 mls of the 4% solution.

laiz [17]

Answer:

<em>H</em>₀: <em>μ₁ = μ₂= μ₃</em>

<em>Hₐ: </em>At least one of the means is different.

Step-by-step explanation:

Analysis of variance or ANOVA test is used to determine whether the means of different groups are similar or not.

The hypothesis of an ANOVA test for <em>n</em> homogeneous groups is:

H_{0}: \mu_{1}= \mu_{2}= \mu_{3}...= \mu_{n}\\H_{a}: At\ least\ one\ of\ the\ means\ is\ different

In this case the researcher is testing whether the mean bone mineral density is different for the three different groups.

The hypothesis for this test can be defined as follows:

<em>H</em>₀: The mean bone mineral density is not different for the three different groups, i.e. <em>μ₁ = μ₂= μ₃</em>

<em>Hₐ: </em>The mean bone mineral density is different for the three different groups, i.e. at least one of the means is different.
