After the congress of Vienna, Napoleon was forced to give back all countries that he had won during his wars and to revert the state back <span>to the borders of 1789. This meant that the Austrian Empire, Germany, and Italy, now went back as they were before Napoleon conquered them and annexed them to his great French Empire. It also enabled the creation of other independent kingdoms that had historically belonged to the territory of Austria or Germany and which now became sovereign states.</span><span />
