The United States announced the open door policy to establish its influence in China.

Further Explanations:

The “Open Door policy” was a declaration of principles practiced by the United States during the 1900s.The declaration called for equal privileges and protection of all nations trading with China and for the backing of Chinese administrative and territorial integrity. The secretary of state, McKinley and President Theodore Roosevelt were the spokesperson behind the “Open Door Notes”. They intended to protect American interests in China by pursuing European nations to inductee equal “Trading Rights” in China and protecting its territories from any foreign invasion.

The policy lasted for decades, concluding three major impacts:

i. Increased Chinese backlash against foreigners.

ii. Chinese and American conflict with Japan.

iii. Increased US interest in East Asia

The American’s intention behind the policy was to createtrade opportunities between the U.S. and China, asserting American comforts in the faraway eastern expanse.
