A personal trainer designs exercise plans based on a combination of strength-training and aerobic exercise. A beginner plan has

15 minutes per session of strength-training and 20 minutes per session of aerobic exercise for a total of 90 minutes of exercise in a week. An advanced plan has 20 minutes per session of strength-training and 30 minutes of aerobic exercise for a total of 130 minutes of exercise in a week.
Which statement describes when the plans are based on the same number of aerobic exercise sessions?

A. Each plan utilizes a combination of 2 strength-training sessions and 2 aerobic exercise sessions per week.

B. Each plan utilizes a combination of 2 strength-training sessions and 3 aerobic exercise sessions per week.

C. Each plan utilizes a combination of 3 strength-training sessions and 2 aerobic exercise sessions per week.

D. Each plan utilizes a combination of 3 strength-training sessions and 3 aerobic exercise sessions per week.

Let's take a look at the beginner plan:

15 min.of strength training
and 20 min. of aerobic exercise.

Each week (it is said) that you do 90 min of training.

Advanced plan:

20 minutes of strength training and 30 minutes of aerobic training.
Each week you do a total of 130 min. of training.

Now, we can plug in the answer choices to the equations.

Two sessions of strength training and aerobics:
15(2)+ 20(2)= 70 (does not equal ninety)

Let's move on to the next one.

2 sessions of strength training and 3 of aerobics.

15(2)+20(3)= 90 Okay, that works.

20(2)+30(3)= 130 Also correct.

B is the correct answer.

Have a nice day!

Use the box plots comparing the number of males and number of females attending the latest superhero movie each day for a month
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

Part A:

The interquartile range is approximately 10

Part B:

The difference between the median values for each data set is approximately 6

Part C:

i) More widely distributed and concentrated to the beginning of the month

The better measure of the center for the male dataset is the median

ii) The skewed distribution

The mean is the better measure of center for the dataset

Part D;

A possible reason for the outlier is by chance

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A:

The interquartile range, IQR, is the width of the box in the box plot = The difference between the third quartile, Q₃ and the first quartile, Q₁ = Q₃ - Q₁

From the diagram, Q₃ ≈ 13, Q₁ ≈ 3

∴ The interquartile range, IQR = 13 - 3 = 10

Part B:

From the diagram of the box plot, the median value, of the males, M-Q₂ ≈ 12

The median value for the females, F-Q₂ ≈ 18

The difference, M-Q₂ - F-Q₂ = 18 - 12 ≈ 6

The difference between the median values for each data set, d = M-Q₂ - F-Q₂ ≈ 6

Part C:

i) The distribution of the of the male dataset for the male has more data on the left of the box plot, with the median located approximately at the center and an outlier at end of the month

The better measure of the center for the male dataset is the median

ii) The distribution of the dataset for the females is skewed (concentrated on the right of the plot). The data set has no outlier and the first quartile is 0, while the third quartile corresponds with the maximum value at 21, the first quartile is 15 and the IQR is approximately 6

The better measure of center for the dataset is the mean, as the difference between the value of the first quartile, 0, and the other data points is more accounted for by the mean

Part D;

The possible reason for the outlier in the male dataset can be attributed to chance

During a food drive, a local middle school collected 8982 canned food items. Each of the 28 classrooms that participated in the
alexandr402 [8]

Answer: 321

Your explanation

There where 28 classrooms that donated. If we are to estimate the total, then we must round the canned items. They're 8982 canned items. If you round that number, you get 9000. So you want to divide 9000 and 28.

dem82 [27]

Answer:

-3

Step-by-step explanation:

Here,

x = -3 and y = 9

Now , let's solve

Step 1 :- Put the value of x and y in the expression .

 • = (-3)² - ( 9 )

Step 2 :- Expand exponent.

 • = 6 - 9

Step 3 :- Subtract 6 from 9.

 • = - 3
