Answer:the number of vans is 9

the number of buses is 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of vans

Let y represent the number of buses.

Some students rode in vans which hold 7 students and some students rode in buses which hold 25 students each. The total number of students in the Math Club that went on the field trip is 213.

This means that

7x + 25y =213 - - - - - - - - - -1

Total number of vehicles used is 15. This means that

x + y = 15

Substituting x = 15 - y into equation 1, it becomes

7(15 - y) + 25y =213

105 - 7y + 25y = 213

- 7y + 25y = 213 - 105

18y = 108

y = 108/18 = 6

x = 15 - y = 15 - 6

x = 9

The width of the rectangle is 7 feet, and the diagonal length of the rectangle is 16 feet. which measurement is the closest to t
yanalaym [24]

Answer: b. 14ft

Step-by-step explanation:

In the rectangle, the opposite sides are equal. The diagonal divides the rectangle into two equal right angle triangles. The diagonal represents the hypotenuse of both right angle triangles. The length and width represents the opposite and adjacent sides of the right angle triangles.

To determine the length, L of the rectangle, we would apply Pythagoras theorem which is expressed as

Hypotenuse² = opposite side² + adjacent side²

Therefore,

16² = L² + 7²

256 = L² + 49

L² = 256 - 49 = 207

L = √207

L = 14.38

the closest to the length of this rectangle in feet is

14ft

Christine is 4 years younger than Mark. 3 years from now, she will be two-thirds as old as Mark find their present ages.Complete
icang [17]

Answer:Mark Is 9 years old; Christine is 5 years old

Step-by-step explanation:

Present age

LET  mark age be x

Christine be x-4 yrs

In 3 yrs Time

Mark will be x+3 yrs old

Christine  will be  (x -4 +3) = x-1 years old

Also, In 3 years time

Christine  = 2/3 Mark

such that

  x-1 = 2/3(x+3)

  x -1= 2x+6 / 3

    3x  -3= 2x+6

      3X--2X = 6+3

         =X=9

Mark Is 9 years old

Christine is   x -4 = 9-4=5 years old
