Answer : C. 40

In a right triangle, the acute angles measure x + 15 and 2x degrees

We know right angle is 90 degree.

In right angle triangle , one angle is 90 and other two angles are x+15  and 2x

WE know sum of angles in a triangle = 180

90 + x+15 + 2x = 180 (combine like terms)

105 + 3x = 180

Subtract 105 on both sides

3x = 75 (Divide by 3 on both sides)

x= 25

In right angle triangle , one angle is 90 and other two angles are x+15  and 2x

Replace x with 25

So angles of the right triangle are 40, 50 , 90 degrees

Smallest angle of the triangle= 40
