Answer : C. 40

In a right triangle, the acute angles measure x + 15 and 2x degrees

We know right angle is 90 degree.

In right angle triangle , one angle is 90 and other two angles are x+15  and 2x

WE know sum of angles in a triangle = 180

90 + x+15 + 2x = 180 (combine like terms)

105 + 3x = 180

Subtract 105 on both sides

3x = 75 (Divide by 3 on both sides)

x= 25

In right angle triangle , one angle is 90 and other two angles are x+15  and 2x

Replace x with 25

So angles of the right triangle are 40, 50 , 90 degrees

Smallest angle of the triangle= 40

Consultant plans a survey to determine what % of the patients in a particular hospital were satisfied with the care they receive
Anna11 [10]

Solution:

Required margin of error  = 0.05

Estimated population proportion p = 0.8

Significance level = 0.10

The \text{provided estimate population proportion} p is 0.8

The significance level, α = 0.1 is z_c=1.645, which is obtained by looking into a standard normal probability table.

The number of patients surveyed to estimate the population proportion p within the required margin of error :

$n \geq p(1-p)\left(\frac{z_c}{E}\right)^2$

  $=0.8\times (1-0.8)\left(\frac{1.64}{0.05}\right)^2$

  = 173.15

Therefore, the number of patients surveyed to satisfy the condition is n ≥ 173.15 and  it must be an integer number.

Thus we conclude that the number of patients surveyed so the margin of error of 90% confidence interval is within 0.05 are n= 174.

12 thousandths written in scientific notation
Stels [109]
1.2x10^-4

When doing scientific notation the number can't be equal to or bigger than 10 so since it was 12 you had to move the decimal over one so ^-1 then since thousandth is .000 then you have to do ^-3 and then ^-1 + ^-3 is ^-4 and so it comes out 1.2x10^-4... in bad at teaching but hey now you know the answer
