Is an organism capable of causing disease in its host. A human pathogen is capable of causing illness in humans. Common examples of pathogenic organisms include specific strains of bacteria like Salmonella, Listeria and E. coli, and viruses such as Cryptosporidium.

Well if you want to be it a start spreading different types of disease that you are not aware of and that might hurt or even kill a person then you can be a pathogenic organism. But in order to stop if you will have to use a cure.

Treatment and health care. Bacteria are usually treated with antibiotics while viruses are treated with antiviral compounds. Eukaryotic pathogens are typically not susceptible to antibiotics and thus need specific drugs. Infection with many pathogens can be prevented by immunization

Imagine the grasshoppers population was gone. What would happen to the black and white bird population?
Zina [86]

Answer:

The black and yellow bird population would begin to starve and would be forced to find alternative food, or die off. This would then send ripples through the food web, causing almost every species to be effected by the grasshoppers being gone.

Which of these would be considered a cis-regulatory element for a gene? Group of answer choices
ss7ja [257]

Answer:

The correct answer is option d. "A region of DNA sequence upstream of a gene where transcription factors bind".

Explanation:

Cis-regulatory elements (CREs) are fragments of DNA that do not encode to a protein, but regulate the transcription of nearby genes. CREs regulation is based on binding to transcription factors. These elements are vital for the regulation of complex molecular mechanisms that involve the participation of multiple genes. Additionally, CREs could participate in pleiotropy (a single gene being responsible for the development of multiple traits), because a single transcription factor could bind to different CREs.
