Which revision correctly combines these two sentences?

English
2 answers:
Elan Coil [88]3 years ago
6 0

The revision that correctly combines the two sentences is, "There are seven Wonders of the World; one of the most famous is the Great Pyramid."

Both of the sentences were independent clauses when the were separated. In order to combine the sentences and avoid a comma splice, we need to make sure we separate the two sentences with a semi-colon. When we use a semi-colon, we don't need to use transition words.

C. Supply the correct TRANSITIONAL DEVICES to complete the sentence.
PtichkaEL [24]

The transitional devices required for these sentences are: without a doubt, as a result, due to this, in other words, and therefore.

Transitional devices are words to connect ideas. Some examples of transitional devices are:

 • Also
 • Besides
 • Furthermore
 • Moreover
 • However

Additionally, selecting a transitional device depends on the sentence because transitional devices can:

 • Add information
 • Explain a cause or an effect
 • Add a contrasting idea

based on this, these are the best transitional devices

 • 16. At this moment we obviously feel the climate change without a doubt (the transitional device emphasizes the first idea) there is sudden change of weather.
 • 17. She failed to follow the heath protocols when she attended the gathering as a result (the transitional device explains the effect) she is now infected - with the virus.
 • 18. There is a long line in the vaccination site due to this (the transitional device explains the cause) I will go early to have be first in line.
 • 19. Vaccination forms were distributed by the Barangay Health Workers in other words ( explains the first idea) following the sequence of different categories.
 • 20. There are side effects to experience after the vaccination therefore (Explains a consequence) taking paracetamol is an advice given after vaccination.

How does Cady Stanton further develop and refine ideas from the “Declaration of Independence” in her address?
Alik [6]

The document can be broken down into four parts. Introduction: States the purpose of the document, which was toexplain why the American people were declaring independence fromGreat Britain. Theory: The theory that there are certain immutable rightspossessed by all individuals and that these rights are not grantedby the government but rather inherent to human nature and that themain purpose of a benevolent government is to secure and protectthese rights. Additionally, that government is based on the consentof the governed (the people) who are the sole source of thisgovernmental authority. Finally, that should the governmentpersistently violate the principle of a proper and good government, then the people have the right to overthrow it. Grievances: The third part of the document is a list of grievancesagainst King George III, who was singled out to represent theactions of the British government. These grievances are examples ofactions that violated the criteria for good government stated inthe second part of the Declaration of Independence. Thesegrievances, therefore, justify separation from the King's badgovernment and establishment of a good government to replace it. Sovereignty: The fourth part of the document is an unqualifiedassertion of sovereignty by the United States of America. Itproclaims the determination of Americans to defend and maintaintheir independence and rights.
