Answer:

B. Cells in Alex’s body underwent mitosis to create new tissue

Explanation:

Mitosis is the cell division that forms two genetically identical daughter cells from one parent cell. It occurs in somatic cells and is responsible for the growth and development of individuals.

Alex gained the height as the cells in tissues of his body underwent the mitosis and produced new daughter cells. Repeated cycles of mitosis added a large number of new cells to his body to form new tissues in his body parts and caused an increase in his height.

Which of the following would you identify as a correctly written problem statement if your topic was about the negative affects
mafiozo [28]
I think B is the correct answer. Answer choices C & D are about dolphins, but they do not have anything related to negative effects surrounding human and dolphin interaction. A, on the other hand, may seem like a good choice, but then again, the answer is too vague.

Liono4ka [1.6K]
Since the liver is the primary organ for metabolism, then in the setting of liver injury there will be reduced metabolism of compounds such as hormones. If these hormones are not metabolized and degraded in the liver, then these hormone levels will increase.

A particular example is that the hormone estrogen is increased in the setting of liver damage, causing males with liver failure to have feminine characteristics.
