Correct answer: C) Hydrophobic

Cell membrane is quasi- fluid in nature that contains lipid bi-layer which is embedded by the protein. Phospholipid of plasma membrane consists of polar head which are hydrophillic and two non-polar hydrophobic tails.

The polar hydrophillic end face towards outward and non-polar hydrophobic end face towards inside membrane of the plasma membrane.

Therefore, membrane associated protein are able to interact with both the environment i.e, an aqueous hydrophillic  and lipid hydrophobic environment of the inner  parts of the plasma membrane.
