Please help me with question 19
Ksenya-84 [330]

Alright, lets get started.

Suppose the smaller integer = n

So, larger integer will be = n+2

3 times of larger integer will be = 3(n+2)

smaller integer is added into this , so

n +3 (n+2)

The result is 2 less than 5 times of smaller integer, so

5n - 2

Both are equal so,

n + 3 (n+2) = 5n - 2

n + 3n + 6 = 5n - 2

Rafael makde the mistake that he didn't put the larger integer into parenthesis like (n+2) , so three times will be 3 n + 6 as he got 3n + 2

So, the correct equation is

n +3n +6 = 5n - 2

Solving the equation

4n + 6 = 5n - 2

n = 8

So, saller integer is 8 and larger integer is 8 + 2 = 10

So, both integers are 8 and 10.  :  Answer

Simplify by using the law of indices:<br>y^a(b+c)×y^b(c-a)×y^c(a-b)
tia_tia [17]

Answer:

y^{2ac}

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the law if indices

a^{m} × a^{n} = a^{(m+n)}

Thus to simplify the expression add the 3 exponents

a(b + c) + b(c - a) + c(a - b) ← distribute parenthesis

= ab + ac + bc - ab + ac - bc ← collect like terms

= 2ac

Then the expression simplifies to

y^{2ac}

Mark invests $8,008 in a retirement account with a fixed annual interest rate of 2% compounded 6 times per year. What will the a
love history [14]

Given:

Principal value = $8,008

Rate of interest = 2% compounded 6 times per year.

Time = 16 years

To find:

The account balance after 16 years.

Solution:

The formula for amount is:

A=P\left(1+\dfrac{r}{n}\right)^{nt}

Where, P is principal, r is the rate of interest, n is the number of times interest compounded in an year and t is the number of years.

Putting P=8,008, r=0.02,n=6,t=16 in the above formula, we get

A=8008\left(1+\dfrac{0.02}{6}\right)^{6(16)}

A=8008\left(\dfrac{6.02}{6}\right)^{96}

A=11022.1721148

A\approx 11022.17

Therefore, the account balance after 16 years is $11022.17.
