To do this you need 94 inches of braid.
94 inches = 2.61 yards

You would need to buy 3 yards so:
$0.60 × 3 = $1.80.

Since you bought 3 yards that would cost $1.80.

Using a directrix of y = −2 and a focus of (1, 6), what quadratic function is created? Question 3 options:
deff fn [24]

If your directrix is a "y=" line, that means that the parabola opens either upwards or downwards (as opposed to the left or the right). Because it is in the character of a parabola to "hug" the focus, our parabola opens upwards. The vertex of a parabola sits exactly halfway between the directrix and the focus. Since our directrix is at y = -2 and the focus is at (1, 6) AND the parabola opens upward, the vertex is going to sit on the main transversal, which is also the "line" the focus sits on. The focus is on the line x = 1, so the vertex will also have that x coordinate. Halfway between the y points of the directrix and the focus, -2 and 6, respectively, is the y value of 2. So the vertex sits at (1, 2). The formula for this type of parabola is (x-h)^2=4p(y-k) where h and k are the coordinates of the vertex and p is the DISTANCE that the focus is from the vertex. Our focus is 4 units from the vertex, so p = 4. Filling in our h, k, and p: (x-1)^2=4(4)(y-2). Simplifying a bit gives us (x-1)^2=16(y-2). We can begin to isolate the y by dividing both sides by 16 to get \frac{1}{16}(x-1)^2=y-2. Then we can add 2 to both sides to get the final equation f(x)=\frac{1}{16}(x-1)^2+2, choice 4 from above.

PLZ HELP ASAP
zubka84 [21]

Here we go.

1) x/5 - 4h = 35

2) {(6-p)/3}+8

3) This is just 1.4k, since the distance you're trying to find is 1.4 times k feet.

You can include a diagram easily enough. Just draw a baseball diamond and two lines, one connecting first and third base and labeled 1.4k, while the other line, connecting home to third, is labeled k.

Hope that helped!

Answer:

a) The percent of their games the hockey team won is 60%

b) The percent of their games the hockey team lost is 37% to the nearest percent

c) The percent of their games the hockey team tied is 3% to the nearest percent

Step-by-step explanation:

In any game, there are 3 situations

 1. Win
 2. Tie
 3. Lose

The sum of the three situations is the total number of playing that game

∵ The hockey team won 72 out of 120 games and tied 4

∴ The number of winning games = 72

∴ The number of tying games = 4

∴ The number of total games = 120

→ Find the number of losing games

∵ Win + ty + lose = total games

∴ 72 + 4 + lose = 120

∴ 76 + lose = 120

→ Subtract 76 from both sides

∴ lose = 44

∴ The number of losing games = 44

Now let answer the questions

a)

∵ P%(win) = (winning ÷ total) × 100%

∴ P%(win) = (72 ÷ 120) × 100%

∴ P%(win) = 60%

The percent of their games the hockey team won is 60%

b)

∵ P%(lose) = (losing ÷ total) × 100%

∴ P%(lose) = (44 ÷ 120) × 100%

∴ P%(lose) = 36.66667% = 37% to the nearest percent

The percent of their games the hockey team lost is 37% to the nearest percent

c)

∵ P%(tie) = (tying ÷ total) × 100%

∴ P%(tie) = (4 ÷ 120) × 100%

∴ P%(tie) = 3.333333% = 3% to the nearest percent

The percent of their games the hockey team tied is 3% to the nearest percent
