Find an equation for the line with an x-intercept of 4 and y-intercept of -2
Bumek [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The x-intercept exists when y = 0; the coordinate that results from our x-intercept is (4, 0).

The y-intercept exists when x = 0; the coordinate that results from our y-intercept is (0, -2).

We can use these 2 coordinates to find the slope of the line we need to write:

m=\frac{-2-0}{0-4}=\frac{1}{2}

Now we can use that slope along with one of our points to write the equation of the line.  I am going to use the point-slope form, then we will solve it for y to put it into slope-intercept.  Let's use the coordinate (4, 0).  Keep in mind that regardless of which point we choose to use to write our equation, we will get the same equation.

y - 0 = 1/2(x - 4) and

y = 1/2x - 2

That's your equation!

A party mix is made by adding nuts that sell for $2.50 per kg to a cereal mixture that sells for $1 per kg. How much of each sho
sesenic [268]

Answer:

The amount of nuts is 16 kg and cereal mixture is 44 kg to obtain 60 kg of a mix that will sell for $1.40 per kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x=nuts at $2.50 per kg

y=cereal at $1 per kg

x+y=60 kg (1)

2.50x+y=1.40(60) (2)

From (1)

x=60-y

Substitute x=60-y into (2)

2.50x+y=1.40(60)

2.50(60-y)+y=84

150-2.5y+y=84

-1.5y=84-150

-1.5y=-66

Divide both sides by -1.5

y=44 kg

Substitute y=44 into (1)

x+y=60

x+44=60

x=60-44

=16

x=16 kg

If the sample size is multiplied by 4, what happens to the standard deviation of the distribution of sample means?
Feliz [49]

Increasing the sample size by a factor of 4 or multiplying it by 4 is equal to increasing the standard error by 1/2.  Therefore, the interval will be half as varied.  This also works almost for population averages as lengthy as the multiplier from the t-curve doesn't modify much when increasing the sample size.

How does the decimal point move when you rewrite a percent as a decimal and when you rewrite a decimal as a percent?
il63 [147K]
Here is an example

0.40,what you do is if it is a decimal you move it to the right twice,until you get 40%,remove the 0 and you have a percent.To move a percent to a decimal,4% you go left twice such as 0.40,and then you are left with 40%

Sorry if it wasn't clear enough but that is my understanding of it.Have a great day.
