The place I enjoy visiting is Cancun, Mexico. I like to spend some time there on a regular basis because is a wonderful place. The element of geography that I would use is Places and Regions.

Cancun, Mexico is a wonderful city on the beach of Southeastern Mexico. It is located in the state of Quintana Roo, and its capital city is Chetumal. The State of Quintana Roo is a southern border state to Belize.

Cancun is about two hours drive by car from Chetumal. If you live in the Eastern United States, it is a two hour fly from Miami or four hour fly from New York.

Cancun is a beautiful Caribbean beach with pristine waters in different tones of the color blue. It belongs to the Mayan Region where visitors can find many ancient Mayan sites such as the imponent city of Chichen Itza, with its magnificent “Castle” dedicated to Quetzaltcoatl Serpent God. This archaeological place is two hours from Cancun.

Another magnificent ancient place is Tulum, an ancient Mayan city located next to the beach. Its most important building is the observatory, where Mayan astronomist used to predict eclipses and studied the stars.
