Is this it?

After egg hatches, the immature insect feeds and grows. Its exoskeleton is like a shell. Eventually, the larva or nymph must shed its unyielding overcoat to continue its development.

The exoskeleton which serves as its external backbone is used for protection and support. Without an exoskeleton, the insect could not survive. An old exoskeleton is shed when a new one is ready underneath, a process that can take days or weeks.

Develop a hypothesis to explain why you think eurypterids developed legs even though they lived on the ocean floor.
expeople1 [14]

I think that since it lives on the ocean floor, at the deepest of the ocean. So anyway, the fin on the Eurypterids is still necessary but not that much, since they live on the ocean floor. Their movements mostly on the ocean floor. So fin would not help them "stick" to the floor. Also there are still gravity acts on the Eurypterids and the feet would help them move faster. Hope this helps.
