Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. For example, “This recipe has a ratio of 3 cups of flour to 4  cups of sugar, so there is 3/4 cup of flour for each cup of gallons of water.”How many cups of disinfectant are needed for 20 gallons of water so c is

I use ratio and proportion changes 3/4= .75 .75 cups/2 gallons= x cups/2o gallons cross multiply 2x= 15 x= 7 1/2 cups also there are 10 gallons for every 3/4 cup 10 x 3/4= 30/4= 7 1/2 I like ratio and proportion it's more consistent in solving lots of problems hope this helps

Find the missing b for a trapezoid with a=68, h=4, b=21
MAVERICK [17]

We will have to use the formula for the area of a trapezoid on this problem, which is (b_1 and b_2 are the bases of the trapezoid and h is the height):

\dfrac{b_1 + b_2}{2} \cdot h

All we need to do is substitute the information we are given into our formula:

\dfrac{21 + b_2}{2} \cdot 4 = 68

Now, let's just simplify the equation:

\dfrac{21 + b_2}{2} \cdot 4 = 68

\dfrac{21 + b_2}{2} = 17

21 + b_2 = 34

b_2 = 13

The missing base has a length of 13 units.

A cone has a volume of 1,440\pi cubic centimeters and a height of 30 centimeters. What is the diameter of the cone's base?
Varvara68 [4.7K]
We know that
[volume of a cone]=pi*r²*h/3
h=30 cm
volume=1440*pi cm³
r²=3*volume/[pi*h]------> r²=3*1440*pi/[30*pi]----> r²=144-------> r=√144
r=12 cm
so
the diameter=2*r------> 2*12-----> 24 cm

the answer is
<span>the diameter of the cone's base is 24 cm</span>
