Help PLZ
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

If they are travelling in opposite directions, their total distance is the 135. So add their distances together to get 135

x=Quinn's speed

x+5 = James' speed

they each travel for 5 hours

speed x time = distance

x(5) + (x+5)(5) = 135

Quinn's distance + James' distance = total distance

5x+5x+25=135

10x = 110

x = 11

Quinn travels at 11 mph and James travels at 16 mph

Quinn travels 55 miles (5x11)

and James travels 80 miles (16 x 5)

80 + 55=135

What is the sum of the sixth terms of the geometric series 2-6+18-54+
lions [1.4K]

Answer: 122

Step-by-step explanation:

Since it is a geometric sequence, lets see the pattern below:

  • -6÷2=-3
  • 18÷-6=-3
  • -54÷18=-3

From this, we can see that we multiply each number by -3 to get the next number.

Before we find the sum, we first find the next number.

-54×-3=162

So the whole sequence will be: 2, -6, 18, -54, 162

Find the sum

 2+(-6)+18+(-54)+162

=2-6+18-54+162

=-4-36+162

=-40+162

=122

Hope this helps!! :)

Find the area of the regular polygon. <br> pentagon with a radius of 4 ft
dangina [55]
In this problem we need to find the apothem and the length of the side before we can find the area of the entire polygon. Each central angle for a regular pentagon is <span><span><span>360∘</span>5</span>=<span>72∘</span></span><span>. So, half of that, to make a right triangle with the apothem, is </span><span>36∘</span><span>. We need to use sine and cosine.
</span><span><span>sin<span>36∘</span></span><span>4sin<span>36∘</span></span><span>8sin<span>36∘</span></span>n</span><span><span>=<span><span>.5n</span>4</span></span><span>=<span>12</span>n</span><span>=n</span><span>≈4.7</span></span><span><span> cos<span>36∘</span>=<span>a4</span></span><span>4cos<span>36∘</span>=a</span><span>a≈<span>3.24
</span></span></span>Using these two pieces of information, we can now find the area.
<span>A=<span>12</span>(3.24)(5)(4.7)≈38.07 unit<span>s^2</span></span><span>.</span>

ira [324]

Answer:

x = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

distribute both parenthesis on the left side of the equation
