Im not exactly sure if this is what you mean, but ill try to answer.
Its called cultural diffusion. that means that when separate cultures meet they might like something from that culture and add it to their own.
For example, when the romans invaded greece they liked their gods so they took them for themselves and rename them.
A more modern example would be how in America, we go crazy over a japanese food like sushi.<span />
