Evaluate the extent to which economic, social, and political developments in the period 1800-1844 fostered change in America.
bixtya [17]

Answer:

A divided regional identity (with a bit of national unity) developed.

Explanation:

Politics: Some contributed (voting rights) to unity, others (nullification) clearly divided the country.

Economics: Market revolution was a bit of both but Tariffs and the clash between the industrial north and the agricultural south was dividing the country and contributed to a regional identity.

Foreign Policy:  The war of 1812 united the country; the westward expansion was uniting and dividing at the same time.

As we take in account that Economics is always the most important thing for the general public, the regional identity grew more than the national unity did.

How do you think John L. Sullivan felt about Prohibition?
Bumek [7]

He thought it was a reduction of personal liberty.

John L. Sullivan was a boxing legend. Even having drinking problems his entire life, he took a step ahead on stopping this practice. He decided to not dring anymore as long as he lived, but he had no hard feelings against a man who does. In his view If a man can take a drink and get away with it, so much the better, but yours truly has found long since that whiskey is not for him. He was against prohibition though. He thought it was a reduction of personal liberty.
