Expected, is what you think will happen, example: I expect the villain to be here by dawn!

Expected means what you think will happen. For example: I was expecting a friend to come over today. Second example: It was expected that the doctor was supposed to be at her office Monday through Friday.

Appears is what you seem will happen. For example: It appears that the plumber won't be able to be here until next weekend because his schedule is booked.

Hope this helps you!!

Why did Lincoln purposely leave the "Border States” out of the Emancipation Proclamation?
Molodets [167]

Answer:

Lincoln exempted the border states from the proclamation because he didn't want to tempt them into joining the Confederacy. Because the proclamation was a temporary war measure, it later had to be codified into law with the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.

Answer:

Upward

Explanation:

  • Upward
  • Unilateral
  • Downward
  • Bilateral

This is an example of upward comparison. In this example, Wendy judges her performance by comparing it to that of other members of her team. However, she compares herself with those who did better than her. This is known as upward comparison. When a person compares himself to those who are worse off, this is a case of downward comparison.

Which law is designed to ensure that a person who has been convicted or acquitted of a crime is not tried or convicted for the s
laiz [17]
This law is called Double Jeopardy.

Although this may seem beneficial and fair, it also has several disadvantages. The law is beneficial to innocent people, because it prevents them from being tried twice for the same crime, so they can not be acquitted and then later found guilty. However, this is also a disadvantage in some cases. In the past, there have been some court cases in which the defendant was acquitted, but later admitted to the crime. Because of the Double Jeopardy law, these people could not be found guilty and still have not received a punishment.
