Written by Simone Elkeles, the Perfect Chemistry is a Romantic Novel.

Explanation:

The story revolves around Brittany and Alex who are lovers, are so different but still bounces back overcoming the prejudices and breaking all the stereotypes.  

Brittany comes from a wealthy family whereas Alex is from a poor family, he is also member of a local gang.  Far from perfect, both Alex and Brittany are different in personalities as opposed to how they present themselves.  

They, incidentally, are made partners in the chemistry class and the whole story progresses how they start liking each other and undergo some misunderstanding, but eventually overcome all the obstacles and want to marry each other

The story emphasizes romance beyond prejudice, appearances, status and be courageous to be true to oneself and express true love.

True to the story's name, the romance between the protagonists, Brittany Ellis and Alejandro Alex Fuentes begins in a Chemistry class. Both of them are from extremely different background but with same goals or dreams to have a bright future.

although they both dislike each other in the beginning due to opinion differences, they began to explore each other when they became partners in the Chemistry class. This understanding about each other made them change their personal perspectives about each other and brought them closer together.
