I am going off the assumption that by "She used a cup of sugar" you mean that she used 1 cup of sugar. Since the model shows that her first step starts with 1.5, that means that she loses 1 cup, and moves 1 unit to the left. She is left with 0.5 cups of sugar.
B. She only moves 1 unit to the left.

Determine the domain of the function (f*g)(x) where f(x) =3x-1/x-4 and g(x) =x+1/x
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

Domain = R- {0,4}

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) =\frac{3x-1}{x-4}

g(x) =\frac{x+1}{x}

(f*g)(x)=\frac{3x-1}{x-4} \times \frac{x+1}{x}

(f*g)(x)=\frac{(3x-1)(x+1)}{(x-4)(x)}

In order to function (f*g)x to be defined , the Denominator must not be equal to zero.

Hence

x ≠ 0

(x-4) ≠ 0 ⇒ x≠4

Hence (f*g)x is defined for all values of x except 0 and 4

Hence Domain = R- {0,4}

How do you solve a slope for a parallel/perpendicular line?
Burka [1]
The slope of a perpendicular line is the opposite of the reciprocal (negative to positive or positive to negative and then flip the fraction) and the parallel lines have the same slope
