Which statement best describes Darrow’s viewpoint in this excerpt? He thought that Leopold and Loeb were mentally ill and should

be put in a mental institution. Darrow was a very religious man who believed the boys should not be punished because they had confessed their sins. He believed that Leopold and Loeb were not receiving a fair trial because they were poor. Darrow was opposed to the death penalty as a form of punishment for any crime.
