In 1913 The New York Herald reported that Andrew Carnegie had given away over $300 million, nearly double that of the next large

Even though Carnegie donated nearly double of Rockefeller, I do think Tucker’s criticism was fair to a point. Although a society needs to further themselves, one man alone should not do it himself. The community needs to donate to things such as libraries, not just a single rich man.
