Mack needs 4 bags. 4 x 6/8 = 24/8. Twenty-four eighths of a pound is equal to 3 pounds.

Mack is repackaging 6/8- pound bags of birdseed into 1-pound bags of birdseed.

We need to find the least number of 6/8 -pound bags of birdseed

Question says : he needs in order to fill 1-pound bags without any leftovers

so we find a least number such that \frac{6}{8} * x is an integer

We use the factors of 6  and 8

We know 6 = 2*3  and 8 = 4* 2

\frac{2*3}{2*4} = \frac{3}{4}

Here 4 is in the denominator , to get integer value we multiply by 4

\frac{3}{4} * 4 = 3

So answer is 4  \frac{6}{8} - pound bags

4 is the least number of 6/8 -pound bags of birdseed he needs in order to fill 1-pound bags without any leftovers

Find the perimeter of the following isosceles triangle. show work
julsineya [31]

Answer

Find out the perimeter of the isosceles triangle.

To prove

As shown in the figure.

P(0,4) , Q(-2,0) and R(2,0) are the vertices of the triangle PQR.

Formula

Distance\ formula = \sqrt{(x_{2} - x_{1})^{2} +(y_{2} -y_{1})^{2}}

As P(0,4) and Q(-2,0)

PQ = \sqrt{(-2 - 0)^{2} +(0 - 4)^{2}}

PQ = \sqrt{4+16}

PQ = \sqrt{20}\unit

In the isoceles triangle the two sides of the triangles are equal .

Therefore PQ = PR

PR = \sqrt{20}\unit

As Q(-2,0) and R(2,0)

QR = \sqrt{(2- (-2))^{2} +(0 - 0)^{2}}

QR = \sqrt{(4)^{2}}

QR = 16 unit

Perimeter\ of\ triangle PQR = \sqrt{20} +\sqrt{20} + 16

Perimeter\ of\ triangle PQR = 4\sqrt{5} + 16\ units^{2}

Complete the following statement.
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

if p ( x ) = x^2 + 7 x + 3 is divided by x + 4, the remainder is -9

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find the remainder if p ( x ) = x^2 + 7 x + 3 is divided by x + 4

Dividing p ( x ) = x^2 + 7 x + 3 by x + 4

The division is shown in figure attached.

The remainder = -9

The quotient = x+3

So, if p ( x ) = x^2 + 7 x + 3 is divided by x + 4, the remainder is -9

What are two expressions that are equivalent to 6(5j + 2 + j)?<br><br><br><br>
ziro4ka [17]

Answer:

1. 30j+12+6j

2. 36j+12

3. 6(6j+2)

Step-by-step explanation:

1. You just multiply so... 6x5j ... 6x2 ... 6xj

2. you multiply and then simplify so first you have 30j+12+6j, so you add like terms so... 30j+6j= 36j and then +12

3. you do what's in the parentheses first so 5j+j=6j so .... 6(6j+2)
