Answer:

  the square rug will cover 0.33 square feet more

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a rectangle is the product of its length and width. The area of the rectangular rug is ...

  (4.8 ft)(8.2 ft) = 39.36 ft^2

Similarly, the area of the square rug is ...

  (6.3 ft)(6.3 ft) = 39.69 ft^2

The square rug has the larger area by ...

  39.69 -39.36 = 0.33 . . . square feet

Choose a variable to represent one of the unknowns. Express the remaining unknowns in terms of the variable you chose in step 1.
jok3333 [9.3K]

Let's just choose "x" as our variable for the length of a side of the triangle.

Two sides of a triangle are equal in length and double the length of the shortest side.

A triangle has 3 sides. Make the smallest side x then the two equal sides that are double the smallest side are both equal to 2x

The perimeter of the triangle is 35 inches. Perimeter is the sum of all sides.

x + 2x + 2x = 35

5x = 35

x = 7

So the smallest side is 7, and the other two sides are 14.

How to find cp if loss and sp are given
velikii [3]

Step-by-step explanation:

\tt{ \: H \: E \: Y \: \:  T \: H \: E \: R\: E \: } !

When Loss and Selling price ( SP ) are given , Cost price ( CP ) can be found out using the following formulae :

✰ \large{ \boxed{ \boxed{ \tt{CP = Loss + SP}}}}

\text{How \: did\: we \:get  \:the \: formula :  \: CP \:  = Loss \:  +  \: SP} \: ?

We simply derived the formula from Loss = CP - SP.

First , Swap the sides of the equation :

⟶ \text{CP - SP = Loss}

Move SP to right hand side and change it's sign :

⟶\text{CP = Loss + SP}

This is how , CP can be obtained when we are given loss and SP.

Hope I helped ! ♡

Have a wonderful day / night ! ツ
