It was looking at the woman, but the woman didn't seem to recognize it. It was hungry but somehow couldn't find food so it was lurking in a bush watching people. The woman had just came out of the grocery store, so it knew she had some kind of food. Without hesitation, it jumped out of its hiding place and ran full speed at the woman. The woman looked over, then her face drained of color and fear swept her body. An orangutan was running at her! The orangutan had grabbed her with a strong grip. The woman held on to her bag, as tightly as she could, trying not to drop it. The orangutan starting to pull her, making her lose her grip of the bag. Full of fear and not thinking, she quickly kicked back at the orangutan that was pulling her. Her feet slid from under her and she landed on her stomach, the food mushed and spilled everywhere. The orangutan let go as it licked his lips. The woman got up with only few bruises on her. She watched as the orangutan ate the food, and drove home to visit the store a different day.

bezimeni [28]

Answer: C) The speaker's kiss is "the first suggestion that love

outlives the heavenly bodies.

Explanation:

Option A is incorrect because, if the speaker's whisper was meant to remind the girl that even love must end, the poem wouldn´t be a good example of "the endurance of love." Option B is incorrect because at no point does the daughter claim that God is "more

immortal even than the stars." Option D is incorrect because the speaker never implies that the daughter should mourn for all things that die, and not just herself.

In "On the Beach at Night," Whitman describes a father and his daughter watching the stars in the evening sky. When the sight moves the daughter to tears, the father kindly comforts her and states that there´s something that will last longer than Jupiter, the sun, or any star. Despite not offering an answer, we can infer that the author is referring to the love father and daughter share, and that´s why the poem shares the theme of "the endurance of love."

Select the correct text in the passage.
Nostrana [21]

Shortly before President Roosevelt’s State of the Union address was delivered on January 6, 1941, Eleanor published her first My Day column of the year. The essay anticipated many of the themes the president would address in his speech. Though hope was hard to entertain, she believed that many Americans would nevertheless find a ray of hope by working together toward the attainment of “peace with honor and justice for all.”She then mentioned the goals (or “freedoms,” in Franklin’s speech) for which she thought people would be inspired to fight: “Justice for all, security in certain living standards, a recognition of the dignity and the right of the individual human being, without regard to his race, creed, or color.”
