Answer:

The length of one side of the aquarium is approx. 1.5 ft.

Step-by-step explanation:

On he 'Net or in a reference book you can determine that 1 gallon  has volume 0.133681 ft^3 or 231 in^3.

Thus, 25 gallons has the volume 25(0.134 ft^3), or 3.35 ft^3.

Since the aquarium has the shape of a cube, its volume is V = s^3, where s is the length of one side.

Thus we have 3.35 ft^3 = s^3, and can find s by taking the cube root of both sides of this equation:

s = (3.35 ft^3)^(1/3) = 1.496 ft, or approx. 1.5 ft.

The length of one side of the aquarium is approx. 1.5 ft.

Cubic volume=l³

l³= 1728
l= 12 feet

the aquarium is cubic shaped=> all l are equal

one side is a square with l= 12 feet
area= l²= l•l= 12•12= 144 feet²

Comparing Rates:I kinda need help with the whole thing...
Stells [14]
[1] Amount of water per minute
Water Miser:  m = 3.0 gal/min
Watersaver:   m = 2.5 gal/min
Waterstream: m = 1.5 gal/min

[2] Equations:
I would suggest using y = mx.
Water Miser:  y = 3x
Watersaver:   y = 2.5x
Waterstream: y = 1.5x

[3] For 6,8,10, and 12 minutes:
Plug in x = 6, x = 8, x = 10, and x = 12 into each of the three equations and record the y-values.

[4] Which would you buy?
Depends on your personal opinion.

Want to save the earth? Pick the one that uses the least amount of water.

Want to have a waterfall for a shower? Pick the one that uses the most amount of water. :)

A salesperson earns commission on the sales that she makes each month.
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

$60

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find how much commission she earns on the 8,000

Since the total is greater than $5,000, we find 7.5% of her sales

7.5% x $8,000 = $60

Thus, our answer is

$60

A soccer player uses her head to hit a ball up in the air from a height of 2 meters with an initial vertical velocity of 5 meter
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:1.32 s

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The initial height of ball H=2 m

Initial velocity u=5 m/s

Height of ball at any instant is given by

H=-4.9t^2+5t+2

The ball will hit the ground when h=0

-4.9t^2+5t+2=0\\4.9t^2-5t-2=0\\t=\dfrac{5\pm\sqrt{25+4(4.9)(2)}}{2\times 4.9}\\t=\dfrac{5\pm\sqrt{64.2}}{9.8}\\t=\dfrac{5+8.01}{9.8}=1.32\ s\quad\text{Neglecting negative value of t}
