So 5/8 in decimal form is .625, so if you put these three numbers from least to greatest the order would be:
5/8, 0.7, 0.7555
Hope this helps!

Let f be a differentiable function such that f(3) = 2 and f'(3) = 5. If the tangent line to the graph of f at x = 3 is used to f
Marina86 [1]
The linear approximation to f(x) centered at x=a is

f(x)\approx f(a)+f'(a)(x-a)

What this means is that you can use the tangent line to f(x) at x=a to get a decent approximation of f(x) at some other value of x to within a certain degree of accuracy depending on how close this value x is close to a. (Note that when x=a, the approximation is exact; f(a)=f(a).)

So what you're asked to do is find an approximate value of a zero of f(x) near a=3. That is to say, you're looking for some value c such that f(c)=0, but all you have at your disposal is the linear approximation to the function.

f(x)\approx f(3)+f'(3)(x-3)
f(x)\approx2+5(x-2)
f(x)\approx5x-8

You know that if c is a zero of f, then f(c)=0, so you get

f(c)=0\approx5c-8

Solving for c, you find

0=5c-8\implies 5c=8\implies c=\dfrac85=1.6

This means that an approximate zero of f(x) is x=1.6.

The vertices of a square are A(–2, 4), B(4, 4), C(4, –2), and D(–2, –2). The diagonals of the square intersect at their midpoint
sertanlavr [38]
A(–2, 4), B(4, 4), C(4, –2), D(–2, –2)
-> select some diagonal: AC
midpoint is at A+(1/2)*AC

-> calculate vector AC:
AC=(4-(-2),-2-4)=(6,-6)
-> calculate half length of AC:
(1/2)*AC=(3,-3)

A+(1/2)*AC=
(-2,4)+(3,-3)=(1,1) which is the midpoint

so the first option is correct

Tiles (6" by 6") can be installed at the rate of 50 per worker hour. The floor of a large lobby area (80’ by 40’) is to be cover
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Tiles (6" by 6") can be installed at the rate of 50 per worker hour. Since the tile is a square, its area is

L^2 = 6^2 = 36 inches square

So in an hour, a worker installs 50 tiles whose area is 36 inches square. Total square meters installed per hour will be 50 × 36 = 1800 inches square per hour.

If three workers are assigned to this task, their work rate will be

1800 × 3 = 5400 inches square per hour.

The floor of a large lobby area (80’ by 40’) is to be covered with these tiles. We would convert from feet to inches.

1 foot = 12 inches

80 feet = 80 × 12 = 960 inches

40 feet = 40 × 12 = 480 inches

Area of the lobby = 90 × 480 = 460800 inches square.

If the 3 workers install 5400 inches square in 1 hour,

Then then they will install 460800 inches square in

460800/5400 = 85.33 hours

Converting to the nearest whole day, it becomes

85.33/24 = 3.55

Approximately 4 days
