Answer:

The equation to find the answer is  9=1+(n-1)2.

It has been 5 days since Karen has set her watch.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Karen set her watch 1 second behind

So we will consider;

First term 'a'  = 1 second

Also Given :

it falls behind another 2 seconds every day.

So we can consider;

Common difference = 2

We need to find number of days it has been 9 seconds since Karen last set her watch

Solution:

Let number of days be represented by 'n'.

Also Let T(n) = 9

Now By Applying formula for Arithmetic Progression we get;

T(n)=a+(n-1)d

Substituting the given values we get;

9=1+(n-1)2

Hence The equation to find the answer is  9=1+(n-1)2.

On Solving the above equation we get;

Subtracting both side by 1 we get;

9-1=1+(n-1)2-1\\\\8=(n-1)2

Now Dividing both side by 2 we get;

\frac{8}{2}=\frac{(n-1)2}{2}\\\\4=n-1

Adding 1 on both side we get;

4+1=n-1+1\\\\n=5

Hence It has been 5 days since Karen has set her watch.

Sunscreen is priced at $10.00 per bottle, plus 8% tax. If Sonya purchases a bottle of sunscreen with a $20.00 bill, then what is
MatroZZZ [7]

Answer:

$9.20

Step-by-step explanation:

the tax would be $0.80 because 8% of $10 is $0.80

so the total cost is $10.80

now subtract that by her $20 bill

20-10.80= 9.20

so she will be given $9.20 back in change

hope this helps luv <3

I'm picking a number between 1-20. I add 5, then I times the number by 3. Lastly I takeaway it by 15. My answer is 42.
Pani-rosa [81]
So (x + 5)*3 - 15 = 42
so the answer is
42 + 15 = 15 + 3x
so solving for x:
x = 14

Points A, B, and C are midpoints of the sides of right triangle DEF.
Radda [10]

Answer:

1) True 2) True 3) False 4) True

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question let's verify those options

1.Triangle A B C is inside triangle D E F. (true)

If A, B and C are midpoints of DEF then connecting those midpoints we have an interior triangle.

2. Point A is the midpoint of side F D, point B is the midpoint of side D E, point C is the midpoint of side F E. (true)

3. Angles D F E and A B C are right angles. (false)

These triangles are similar. And In this case, the right angles are:

E\hat{D}F\cong A\hat{C}B=90^{\circ}\\\measuredangle D=\measuredangle C=90^{\circ}

D and C are opposed to the larger side, and not F, and B

Because:\measuredangle F\cong\measuredangle B \neq90^{\circ}

4. The length of D E is 10 centimeters, the length of F D is 6 centimeters, and the length of F E is 8 centimeters. (true)

Let's test this by the Pythagorean Theorem. For DE is the hypotenuse and FD and FE is their legs.

\overline{DE}=\sqrt{FD^{2}+FE^{2}}\\\overline{DE}=\sqrt{8^{2}+6^{2}}\\10= \sqrt{100}\\10=10
