Among the excepts from Homer’s IIiad, the one that contains an epic simile is: “As wasps, provoked by children in their play, Pour from their mansions by the broad highway, in swarms the guiltless engage, Whet all their stings, and call forth all their rage: traveler...” An epic simile is the same as a simile which also compares two things but spans several lines in order to give a more detailed comparison between the two.
