I looked out toward the horizon.  There was a certain saltiness in the air that made my tongue sting.  The waves washed over my feet as I prepared my boat to sail to [island name].  Having only heard legends and tales about explorers who had ventured there and never returned, this expedition proved quite the challenge to an amateur explorer such as myself.  In another hour, I had set sail and was letting my fingers drift through the sparkling water, making trails as the boat floated through the sea.  It was evening, and it was soon difficult to keep my eyes open.  I fell asleep, my body slumped against the towering mast of my boat.  The next morning, I awoke when the boat seemed to bump into something.  My eyes opened.  I had hit land.  As I looked around, I discovered that the sand seemed to hover slightly above the ground, wispy and white, the palm trees swayed in synchronization, and the ocean was a deep, cerulean blue color.  That was when I realized I had reached [island name]!  The amazement I had didn't fade as I stepped on land, eager to explore the island.

Is this good enough?

Read this sentence from “The Gift of the Magi” and answer the question.
Ugo [173]

Answer:

I think it is c but I am not positive

Explanation:

I know it is not a or b because if you have ever read gift of the magi you will understand that this has nothing to do with the underlying conflict. I believe it to be c because if you once again have ever read the short story she is very upset because she can't get a great gift for her husband.

Please let me know if this helped or not

Answer:

a. We praised Suman, whose performance was remarkable.

b. The boys that came late were punished.

c. The businessman who I saw last night was very rich.

d. The man whom I trusted betrayed me.

e. Give me the book that is on the table.

Explanation:

Let me add the disclaimer that I'm not a native English speaker, but I want to help. :)

There are essential and nonessential clauses: they're differentiated by commas, like in this example: "<em>Carrots and brussel sprouts, which are often discarded, happen to provide many nutrients". </em>This is an example of a nonessential clause since it utilizes a comma to deliver more information.

Here are a few more examples you can use to compare the answers/future questions with:

<em>"The man who forgot his wallet is coming back to retrieve it."</em>

<em>"Katie, who has the same class as Henry, is my best friend."</em>

<em>"I like dogs that have sleek fur."</em>

<em />

What do you think about fast growing salmon?
SVETLANKA909090 [29]
Fast growing Salmon to me would be a freak of nature. Most likley some idiot put some steriods in the ocean, but also must mean something is happening with where they live and they are trying to adapt to what has happened.
