The Articles of Confederation was actually an agreement among thirteen original states of US which served as its first Constitution. It established a representative government. It proposed a unicameral legislature i.e Congress where every state whether big or small had one equal vote.
Small flour and lumber mills flourished. There were important rope-making plants in Kentucky. Many Southern cities had commercial cotton presses. Iron and coal were mined in Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
