Angle bisector theorem:
CD/DB=AC/AB
REeplacing the known values:
CD/4=5.6/5.1
Solving for CD. Multiplying both sides of the equation by 4:
4(CD/4)=4(5.6/5.1)
CD=22.4/5.1
CD=4.392156863
Rounded to one decimal place:
CD=4.4

Answer: The length of CD is 4.4

serious [3.7K]

I will place 0 on the right side.

2x^2+3x+4 = 0

2 times 4 = 8.

What two numbers yield a product of 8 but when added produce a sum of 3, the middle term's coefficient?

There is no such number.

So, gotta use the quadratic formula.

I will set it up and let you do the math.

See attachment for the set up.

Why does the formula for finding the area of a circle work? A = π r²
Nadusha1986 [10]
The formula for finding the area of the circle works because they made it especially for it. I don’t really know how else to describe it, it simply just works.

liubo4ka [24]

The simplified expression for perimeter is 6w, and for area is 2w². 3 meters of a width will allow the most area while not exceeding a perimeter of 20 meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let w represent the width of the poster then,

The length of the poster is twice as long as its width, to mean the length is 2w

Perimeter is the distance around the figure. Your figure is a rectangle with sides width, w and length 2w;

Perimeter formula is = 2(l+w) where l is length and w is with

P=2(2w+w) = 2(3w) = 6w meters

Area is given by the product of length and width of the figure

Area=l*w

A=2w*w= 2w²

The table will be;

Width in (m) Perimeter=6w in (m) Area (2w²) in m²

3                          6*3= 18                                   2*3²=2*9=18

4                          6*4=24                                  2*4²=2*16=32

Width 3 allows for the most area while not exceeding a perimeter of 20 meters.

Can someone help me? Pleaseeeee
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

a. x = 82 degrees

b. All angles less than 90 degrees are 65 degrees and 33 degrees and 82 degrees in an acute triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

A triangle has to equal to 180 degrees, add 65 and 33 together to get 98 degrees, subtract 180 from 98 to get 82 degrees. Part B is self explanatory.

y is inversely proportional to a^3. When a=2, y=10. a is directly proportional to x. When x=4, a=20. Find a formula for y in ter
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

y = 16/25x³

Step-by-step explanation:

If y is inversely proportional to a^3, this is expressed as;

y∝1/a³

y = k/a³ where k is the proportionality constant

Given a=2, y=10, then 10 = k/2³

k = 10*2³

k = 80

Substituting k = 80 back into the formula;

y = 80/a³ ............. 1

Similarly, if a is directly proportional to x, then a ∝ x i.e a = kx

If x=4, a=20 then;

20 = 4k

k = 20/4

k = 5

Substituting k = 5 back into the formula;

a = 5x ....... 2

Substitute equation 2 into 1;

y = 80/a³

y = 80/(5x)³

y = 80/125x³

y = 16/25x³

Hence the formula for y in terms of x is y = 16/25x³
