In the 1896 presidential election, the Democrats nominated William Jennings.

Explanation: The Populist movement was popular for a while, but it eventually declined. There are some reasons for the decline of the Populist Party. One reason has to do with the needs of the workers and the needs of the farmers. The farmers wanted monetary policies that would raise the price of crops.
