What was an immediate and a long-term effect of the assassination of President Lincoln?

History

Gnom [1K]4 years ago

The immediate effect was an outpouring of grief and indignation of a kind rarely if ever experienced in the United States. The emotional impact of the crime was heightened by the fact that it occurred almost immediately after the Civil War had ended. The long-term effect was that the goal of the country's well-being changed. Lincoln's plan was simply to reunite the country not really focused on slaves. Without him, the plan shifted a bit. Hope this helped :))

What was the decision in Commonwealth v Hunt and why it is significant?
Tema [17]

Answer:

It was historically significant because it was a victory for the workers. It was established by the supreme court that labor unions are not and can't be forbidden and that workers can unionize to protect themselves. This was important worldwide also because now workers from other countries saw that it was possible to win something like this.
