Answer: can affect an individual's decision on things.

Explanation: The movie's portrayal about the poor conditions of killer whales in captivitity helped to shape the way Nikole feels and reasons. The movie is a marketing strategy that seeks for animals like killer sharks be treated and placed in better conditions that would make people want to visit them all the time. Its game plan is to discourage people from visiting, encouraging and indulging the captivity of animals. By portraying the killer whales in poor conditions, it has affected the way Nikole thinks and feels about their living conditions.

Given your understanding of cash flow, financial statements, ratio analysis and time value of money, provide an example of why t
Alla [95]

Answer:

The best example I can think of that would integrate all of these concepts is when a business is looking to finance some sort of project and they are seeking financing either through the issuance of bonds or a loan from a bank. Some of the concepts would be important to both parties, while others would be more important to one than the other.

Cash Flow

This would be important to both parties. The business, to make sure they have enough cash flow to pay for the financing. And the financiers, for the same reason.

Ratio Analysis

This would be important to both parties for the same reason as above. Especially the "current ratio" (current assets / current liabilities) and the "working capital" ratio (current assets - current liabilities).

Financial Statements

This would be of most importance to the financiers. They would want to see the total picture of a company's financial strength.

Time Value of Money

This would be of most importance to the company itself. They would want to know if the project was worth the total amount they would be paying on the bonds or the loan

A TIPS was issued with a par value of $1000, a coupon rate of 2.5 percent, and a reference CPI of 204.89. What is the correct ca
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

$12.53

Explanation:

Data provided in the question

Par value = $1,000

Coupon rate = 2.5%

Reference CPI = 204.89

Now CPI = 205.44

By considering the above information, the correct calculation of the current interest payment is

= Par value × Current CPI ÷ Reference CPI × Coupon rate ÷ 2

= $1,000 × 205.44 ÷ 204.89 × 2.5% ÷ 2

= $12.53

We assume the interest is on semi annual payments

Net operating income computed under variable costing would exceed net operating income computed using absorption costing if: Mul
klasskru [66]

Answer:

Units sold exceeds units produced

Explanation:

The net operating income under variable costing system is always higher than absorption costing system when units sold exceeds units produced. As variable cost doesn't include fixed manufacturing overhead unlike absorption costing, when the net operating income under it now exceed that of absorption, it's definitely am increase in sales that's responsible for that.

Sales (19,500 units at $30 per unit) $585,000 Variable expenses 409,500 Contribution margin 175,500 Fixed expenses 180,000 Net o
vichka [17]

Answer:

                                                                                                   Automated

Sales (19,500 units at $30 per unit) $585,000 $585,000

Variable expenses 409,500 351,000

Contribution margin 175,500 234,000

Fixed expenses 180,000 252,000

Net operating loss $(4,500) $( 18,000)

New Cm ratio= Contribution Margin/ Sales Revenue

                      = $ 234,000 $ 585,000 = 0.4

Break-even point in dollars= Fixed Costs/ 1- (variable Cost/ Sales)

                                            = 252,000/ 1- (351,000/ 585,000)

                                             = 252,000/ 1-0.6

                                               = 252,000/0.4= $ 630,000

The resulting $ 630,000 is the break even point at which neither a loss nor a profit is incurred. This can be checked as follows.

Sales $ 630,000

Variable Costs ( 60 % $ 630,000) $ 378,000

Contribution Margin $ 252,000

Less Fixed Expense $ 252,000

Profit 0

Break even point in units = Fixed Costs/ Contribution Margin in units

                                         = $ 252,000/ (30-18)

                                          =$ 252,000/ $ 12= 21,000 units

Two Contribution format Income Statements:

                                                                                                   Automated

Sales (26,000 units at $30 per unit) $780,000 $780,000

Variable expenses 546,000 468,000

Contribution margin 234,000 312,000

Fixed expenses 180,000 252,000

Net operating Profit $ 54,000 $ 60,000

Working:

Variable Costs per unit = $ 409500/19500= $ 21

After reduction variable costs = $ 21- $3= $ 18
