Find center,foci, and vertices of ellipse (x+3)^2/21+(y-5)^2/25=1

I don't know if we can find the foci of this ellipse, but we can find the centre and the vertices. First of all, let us state the standard equation of an ellipse.

(If there is a way to solve for the foci of this ellipse, please let me know! I am learning this stuff currently.)

\frac{(x-x_{1})^2}{a^2}+ \frac{(y-y_{1})^2}{b^2}=1

Where (x_{1},y_{1}) is the centre of the ellipse. Just by looking at your equation right away, we can tell that the centre of the ellipse is:

(-3,5)

Now to find the vertices, we must first remember that the vertices of an ellipse are on the major axis.

The major axis in this case is that of the y-axis. In other words,

b^2>a^2

So we know that b=5 from your equation given. The vertices are 5 away from the centre, so we find that the vertices of your ellipse are:

(-3,10)
 & (-3,0)

I really hope this helped you! (Partially because I spent a lot of time on this lol)

Sincerely,

Evaluate for x = 3 and y = 4: x^-2y^2/x^0y^3 1/36 4/9 1024/9
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

\frac{1}{36}

Step-by-step explanation:

Evaluating the numerator and denominator before evaluating

Using the rule of exponents

a^{-n} ⇔ \frac{1}{a^{n} }, a^{0} = 1

Thus

x^{-2}y² ← substitute values into expression

= 3^{-2} × 4² = \frac{1}{9} × 16 = \frac{16}{9}

and denominator

x^{0}y^{3} = 1 × 4³ = 1 × 64 = 64

Now dividing

\frac{16}{9} ÷ 64

= \frac{16}{9} × \frac{1}{64} ( cancel 16 and 64 )

= \frac{1}{9(4)} = \frac{1}{36}

Find two additional roots of P(x)=0.<br><br> 13+sqrt 3 and 7i
vova2212 [387]
So, x = 13, x = √3 and x =7i.

now, recall that for an EVEN radical, there are two possible roots, namely is say √3 is say hmmm some value "a", that means that a*a = √3, however, -a*-a is also √3, therefore, ±√3 are two valid values, and therefore -√3 is another one.

now.... keep in mind that, complex solutions or roots, never come all by their lonesome, their sister is always with them, the conjugate, so, for 7i or namely 0 + 7i, her sister is always around, 0 - 7i, which is the other root.

Answer:

Below.

Step-by-step explanation:

The center of the circle is at the origin and its radius is √16 = 4.

So set a compass to 4 and draw a circle with the compass point at the origin.
