Since there is no b in the equation, y=mx+b, the equation would just be y= 1/5x+0

So you would plot the point (0,0) and you would need to then graph the slope, 1/5x.

Assuming you don't know how to graph the slope, (not saying you don't, its just for those who may not know.)

You would go up 1 from the point (0,0) and you would go right five and plot that point and keep going on your graph. You should then put a line to connect those points! Like connect the dots.. C:

In the end, your graph should look like this:

26=8+v I dont know how to do this and I need help
Goshia [24]
26 = 8 + v equals v = 18.

First,
subtract 8 from both sides. Your problem should look like 26 - 8 = v.
Second, simplify 26 - 8 to get 18. Your problem should look like 18 = v.
Third, switch sides. Your problem should look like v = 18, which is the correct answer.

vaieri [72.5K]

The amount of money she spends per year on utility bills for the air conditioner is; D: $176.40

How to solve algebra word problems?

We are told that;

Cost of running the air conditioner = 7 hours per day

Cost of running the air conditioner = 21 cents per hour = $0.21 per hr.

She runs it for four months at 7 hours per day. Thus;

Total number of hours for the 4 months = 7 × 30 × 4 = 840 hours

Total cost for the 4 months = $0.21 per hr. × 840 hours = $176.4
