Answer:

Sent princesses to Marry Xiongun leaders.

Explanation:

At first, China tried to block the advance of Xiongnu Empire by miltary force, but they failed  and they had to use one of their last resorse tactics: Arrange marriages with the enemy. They sent princesses to Marry Xiongnu important leaders along with gifts to ecourage them to stop their attacks; even the daugther of the emperor was offered for marriage. It was useful to set a peace treaty between the Chinese and the Xiongnu  which kept the Xiongnu as allies for decades, however it was very costly for China as they had to sent gifts constantly and accept trading conditions more benefical for the Xiongnu. At the endgame, the peace was broken when the Xiongnu attacked again now stronger in power and trade.

How did Kennedy’s actions in Southeast Asia set the stage for future conflict?
tankabanditka [31]

Cold War rhetoric dominated the 1960 presidential campaign. Senator John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard M. Nixon both pledged to strengthen American military forces and promised a tough stance against the Soviet Union and international communism. Kennedy warned of the Soviet's growing arsenal of intercontinental ballistic missiles and pledged to revitalize American nuclear forces. He also criticized the Eisenhower administration for permitting the establishment of a pro-Soviet government in Cuba.

John F. Kennedy was the first American president born in the 20th century. The Cold War and the nuclear arms race with the Soviet Union were vital international issues throughout his political career. His inaugural address stressed the contest between the free world and the communist world, and he pledged that the American people would "pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of liberty."

What were the Fugitive Slave Laws, how did they help the south? Explain
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

The Fugitive Slave Acts were a pair of federal laws that allowed for the capture and return of runaway slaves within the territory of the United States. Enacted by Congress in 1793, the first Fugitive Slave Act authorized local governments to seize and return escaped slaves to their owners and imposed penalties on anyone who aided in their flight. Widespread resistance to the 1793 law led to the passage of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which added more provisions regarding runaways and levied even harsher punishments for interfering in their capture. The Fugitive Slave Acts were among the most controversial laws of the early 19th century. Statutes regarding refugee slaves existed in America as early as 1643 and the New England Confederation, and slave laws were later enacted in several of the 13 original colonies. Among others, New York passed a 1705 measure designed to prevent runaways from fleeing to Canada, and Virginia and Maryland drafted laws offering bounties for the capture and return of escaped slaves. It helped the southerners by allowing them to recapture their slaves, should they run away.
