-2 ≤ d + 1/2 < 4 1/2                    (-1/2)
-2 1/2 ≤ d ≤ 4

2t ≤ -4 or 7t ≥ 49
2t ≤ -4                                       (/2)
t ≤ -2
7t ≥ 49                                      (/7)
t ≥ 7

46.
-1 ≤ a - 3 ≤ 2                              (+3)
2 ≤ a ≤ 5

The key to solving these types of questions is to think to yourself - what do I need to do to get the variable on its own? Then, apply this action to every part of the inequality separated by inequality signs. When you get two separate inequalities describing the value of the variable, just think about them separately and apply the same logic.

All you have to do for the last question (48.) is turn the question into an inequality. Calling the temperature t:

65 ≤ t ≤ 88

Notice the use of greater-than-or-equal symbols - this is because 65 and 88 were recorded temperatures, so are included in the range of values for t

I hope this helps

If the measures of the angles in the following triangle were listed in increasing order, which measure would be second? (2x+24)
Andru [333]

Answer:

x²+1 is the second

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+24=40°

4x+43=75°

x²+1=65°

(2x+24) + (4x +43) + (x²+1)=180

x²+6x+68=180

x1=-14

x2=8

since there's no negative angle, we'll use x=8

A family will travel 350 miles from their house in order to reach Dallas TX. Which inequality can be used to find all possible v
Brrunno [24]
V = d / t => t = d / V

V ≥ r ; d = 350 => t = d / V ≤ 350 / r

Then, t ≤ 350 / r, which is option C.

Mr. Torres took his students to the dolphin show. Each row in the stadium had 9 seats. One adult sat at each end of a row, and e
iragen [17]

Answer:

There were 4 adults; including Mr. Torres

Step-by-step explanation:

- Each row in the stadium had 9 seats

- Mr. Torres sat by himself; he sat on a row with nobody else (no students, no adults)

- The arrangement of the students and the adults who sat with them on same row is: A S S S A S S S A

              1   2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9

since 1 adult sat at each end of a/the row and each group of 3 students was seated between 2 adults.

So the total number of adults that were present = 3 + 1 = 4
