This is applying the formula
distance=rate*time

We have a slight problem, though, because we are measuring rate in miles per hour, and we are measuring time in minutes. To make this problem solvable, we need to convert to either miles per minute or convert the time to hours. I'm going to convert the 15 minutes into hours:
15min*\frac{1 hour}{60 min}=\frac{1}{4}hour

Now that all of the units match, we have:
distance=36\frac{mi}{hr}*\frac{1}{4}hr

You can finish from there I'm sure.

The parabolic arch of a bridge over a one-way road can be described by the equation y = -x^2 + 6, where x and y ar emeasured in
Vladimir [108]
So check the picture below

if we check the solutions or zeros for the equation, we get \bf y=-x^2+6\implies 0=-x^2+6\implies x=\pm \sqrt{6}

and as you can see in the picture, the value of "x" when y = 3.5, or the height of the truck is  \bf y=-x^2+6\implies 3.5=-x^2+6\implies x=\pm \sqrt{2.5}

the truck, ends up with a clearance of \bf \sqrt{2.5}-1.5 on either side, so, the maximum clearance, the truck can have, those two clearances added together, \bf 2(\sqrt{2.5}-1.5)

For which angle theta is cos theta =-1?<br>a) 270<br>b) 360<br>c) 450<br>d) 540
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

540°.

Step-by-step explanation:

On a unit circle, cos θ = -1 at 180°.

However, cos θ has a period of 2π, or 360°. This means that cos θ will equal to -1 again after 2π.

To solve for the angle:

180° + 360° = 540°. This is the next angle at which cos θ = -1.

kap26 [50]

Answer:

1) His total commission is $1,234.3

2) The purchase of the car is $24,790.

Step-by-step explanation:

1) 21640*0.02= 432.8+ 250= 682.8

15075*0.02= 301.5+ 250= 551.5

682.8+ 551.5= 1,234.3

2) 745.8- 250= 495.8/ 0.02= 24,790

It takes 2/3 of an hour to paint 2/5 of a room. How long does it take to paint 2/5 of a room?
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

It will take 40 minutes.

To solve, divide 60 by 3. 60 is how many minutes there are in a minute. 3 is how long it takes to paint 2/5 of the room. We do not need to use the number 2/5 in this situation. Now back to 60 divided by 3. The answer is 20 minutes. Now multiply 20 by 2 to get 2/3 of an hour. Therefore, it takes 40 minutes to paint 2/5 of a room.
