The poem is dedicated to the author's father who was tortured and imprisoned during the Cultural Revolution.

In the first stanza of the poem, the author describes that how his father was a school principal and one day he caught a carp and everybody in the school tasted it. The poem emphasizes the importance in Chinese culture where it represents perseverance, luck, and success. Paradoxically, Wang writes that her son is named Carp and yet he died an early death.

The carp also represents a loss of innocence  and the flawed nature of people with the lines "they had tasted the carp". This stanza shows how a good memory turned into a painful one.

In "The Carp," by Yun Wang, the use of the carp to represent something deeper is an example of Synecdoche. The carp is used to represent the pain and injustice of her father’s imprisonment. “The Carp is dedicated to Wang’s father, and many of the poems in her little book tell stories from that period.

In the concluding chapter of Pollution and the Death of Man, Udo Middleman discusses how his children have a different view of e
maw [93]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

I am going to explore the environmental issues/attitudes that I see in the media, taking the case of the film "An Inconvenient Truth," produced by former Democratic candidate to the presidency of the United States, Al Gore.

The film, released in 2006, tries to create conscience about the difficult topic of the damage that humans are inflicting on the environment and how mother Earth tends to react when so much noise, air, and water pollution abounds on the planet. The central topic is global warming, and the film presents testimonials and statistics about the increasing pollution levels in most parts of the earth and the damage industries and means of transportation causes the planet due to carbon dioxide.

Other pieces of literature support these concerns, meanwhile, the Bible warned of the kind of destruction that was created in the past if we sin and do not respect nature as a creation of God.
