Numerator gets divided by denominator.

2 / 5 = 0.4

In any fraction, such as 2/5, the line means you divide it. To convert it into a decimal, you simply divide 2 by 5.

If you don't have a calculator on hand however, you can change the denominator to something easy such as 100 or 10 so it become 4/10 which equals 0.4
