How do I solve this equation to get the solution?<br><br> y= -2x - 1<br><br> -3x + 6y = 24
swat32
There are a few ways to solve this. The method I will use is the substitution method. Since they give us a "y = " statement, we can replace the y in the second equation with what it gives us to the right of the equal sign.

- 3x + 6(- 2x - 1) = 24

Simplify by using the distributive property.

- 3x + 6(- 2x) + 6(- 1) = 24
- 3x - 12x - 6 = 24.

Combine like terms

- 15x - 6 = 24

Add 6 to each side.

- 15x = 30

Divide both sides by - 15 to isolate variable X

x = 30 / - 15
x = - 2.

Now plug in the x-value we've found back into the first equation.

y = - 2( - 2) - 1
y = 4 - 1
y = 3

Your answer is (- 2, 3)

Find the simplified product<br> ^3V9x^4 x ^3V3x^8
Kay [80]

\sqrt[3]{9x^4}\cdot \sqrt[3]{3x^8}\implies \sqrt[3]{(9x^4)(3x^8)}\implies \sqrt[3]{27x^{4+8}}\implies \sqrt[3]{27x^{12}} \\\\\\ \sqrt[3]{3^3(x^4)^3}\implies 3x^4

What is the third term of the sequence defined by the recursive rule?<br> f(1) = 2 f(n)= 2f(n-1)+1
8090 [49]
The way you worded the question kind of confuses me but i'll try to answer.

Think of recursion like climbing a ladder; in this type of sequence you start out somewhere, usually n. So in f(n-1)+1, you take n (where you started) and "step down" once, and then step up once (which brings you back where you were). Remember PEMDAS when doing these.

A dartboard has a diameter of 30 inches. What are its radius and circumference?
inessss [21]

Answer:

radius = 15 in.

circumference = 94.2 in.

Step-by-step explanation:

radius = diameter/2 = 30 in./2 = 15 in.

circumference = (pi)d = 3.14 * 30 in. = 94.2 in.
