B. he wanted to preserve order in Czechoslovakia.

The Germans claimed that the Czech territory of Sudetenland, with its three million German population, should be a part of Germany. The Anschluss of Austria with Germany emboldened Hitler’s ambitions, and he planned to conquer the Czech territory of Sudetenland, under terms outlined under the Munich agreement.

Further Explanation:

The pro-Nazi leader of the Sudeten German Party incited the Germans of Sudetenland to demand autonomy, which was unacceptable to the Czechoslovak government as it would severely threaten the territorial integrity of the State. The British and French pressurized the Czech Government to accept Sudeten demands, in an all-out effort to avoid war with Germany at all costs. President Benes agreed reluctantly, and Sudetenland became an independent territory so that it could align itself with Germany. The leader of the Sudeten German Party invited Hitler to restore order and peace, in the face of disturbances that broke out between the Sudeten Germans and the local authorities. The Germans used this as a pretext and moved in troops that occupied Sudetenland. Soon, the German troops moved into the rest of Czechoslovakia, annexing it, in a total breach of the terms of the Munich agreement, and justified it as a peacekeeping action. The loss of Sudetenland severely hampered the economy of Czechoslovakia, as she lost almost 60 percent of her economic resources, On September 30, 1938, the Munich Agreement sealed the fate of Czechoslovakia, as the French premier Daladier and the British Prime Minister Daladier ignored the pleas of the Czech state against its possible takeover by Germany, and complied with Hitler’s demands, so that he could preserve peace in Sudetenland, on the condition that he would not occupy the rest of the country. On March 15, 1939, German troops moved from Sudetenland to the rest of Czechoslovakia, annexing the State. Britain and France, protested on the violation, however, Hitler appeased them by claiming that this was his last annexation in Europe, and it was done only for peace.
