Read the excerpt from "The Goatherd and the Wild Goats.” He gave his own goats just sufficient food to keep them alive, but fed

the strangers more abundantly in the hope of enticing them to stay with him and of making them his own. When the thaw set in, he led them all out to feed, and the Wild Goats scampered away as fast as they could to the mountains. The Goatherd scolded them for their ingratitude in leaving him, when during the storm he had taken more care of them than of his own herd. One of them, turning about, said to him: "That is the very reason why we are so cautious; for if you yesterday treated us better than the Goats you have had so long, it is plain also that if others came after us, you would in the same manner prefer them to ourselves.” What is the central idea of this excerpt?

a

Explanation:

excerpt is: “Why, it’s Ali Baba!” Scrooge exclaimed in ecstasy. “It’s dear old honest Ali Baba! Yes, yes, I know! One Christmas time, when yonder solitary child was left here all alone, he did come, for the first time, just like that. Poor boy! And Valentine,” said Scrooge, “and his wild brother, Orson; there they go! And what’s his name, who was put down in his drawers, asleep, at the Gate of Damascus; don’t you see him! And the Sultan’s Groom turned upside down by the Genii; there he is upon his head! Serve him right. I’m glad of it. What business had he to be married to the Princess!”

Which excerpt from The Great Fire best supports the theme that there was a sense of hope that the city would rebuild after the f
earnstyle [38]

“Alfred Sewell ended his discussion of Chicago with a stirring prediction: ‘The city will nevertheless rise again, nay, is already rising, like the Phoenix, from her ashes. And she will, we believe, be a better city as well as a greater one, than she was before her disaster.’”

This is the best option because it gives the feeling of hope. The image of the Phoenix rising out of the ashes is meant to show that Chicago will once rise again. It will come back and be even better. The quote says that the city will "rise again" and "is already rising". Two of the other options only speak of the devastation of the fire. The option about the workers tells about the demand for laborers but it doesn't necessarily evoke a sense of hope in rebuilding.

The Ourang-Outang represents one kind of outsider to the society of Paris. What other examples of outsiders do we find in this s
Naddik [55]

Answer and explanation:

In the story called "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" by Edgar Allan Poe, we find, as stated in the task, that the ourang-outang represents one kind of outsider to the society of Paris. But looking deeply into the lines of the story, we can also think that the hero, the detective called Dupin, is himself another kind of outsider. That's due to his kind of personality: a very cold cand calculating person, nearly emotionless.
