Compare predator-prey relationship and cooperative relationships

Biology

Both the predator-prey relationship and the cooperative relationship are relationships where the species depend on one another.

In the predator-prey relationship, the predator is feeding on the prey, thus it needs to consume them in order to survive. On the other hand, the predator also regulates the number of the prey, thus stopping them to overpopulate and deplete the resources, thus doing them a favor by killing some of them as much weird as it may sound.

The cooperative relationship is a relationship where the different species help each other, protect each other, or provide food for one another. One of the species is providing some things that help the other species to survive, while the other species in return helps in other things that help the other species.

Which statement is an example of the chemical potential energy in adenosine triphosphate (ATP) being turned into work?
evablogger [386]

Answer:

The correct answer is option (C) "After splitting ATP, a protein changes shape to pump ions across a membrane".

Explanation:

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is an organic chemical molecule considered the "molecular unit of currency" of intracellular energy transfer, for the high level of energy that is released when ATP is breakdown into adenosine diphosphate (ADP). ATP provides energy to drive many processes in living cells. One example of how the chemical potential energy of this molecule is turned into work is that after splitting ATP, a protein changes shape to pump ions across a membrane. The energy of the splitting of ATP into ADP will provide energy for the protein being able to change shape, resulting in pumping ions across a membrane.

Cells are surrounded by water, and cells themselves are about 70-95% water. As a result, __________
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

The correct answer is c. a variety of nutrient molecules are readiy available as dissolved solutes.

Explanation:

There are several molecules that act as nutrients, that can dissolve in water. Mostly inorganic compounds like salts can dissolve in water, resulting in ions that can go through the membrane easier. The temperature of living things actually is more stable because of the water in them.
