Why is it important to use an encrypted website when using public wifi?

It is important because encryption scrambles the information you send over the internet into a code so it's not accessible to others. When using wireless networks, it's best to send personal information only if it's encrypted, because if is not, hackers can easily break into your computer or electronic device stealing information and spreading web viruses.
